$143.00 per person (approximately 140 guests) consisting of a Cocktail Hour with a Buffet Dinner which includes a Seafood Table. Approved 4-0. (Note: There is the option of having a Sit Down Dinner rather than a Buffet Dinner.)
NEW BUSINESS
Commissioner Jackson stated that the Fire District Facilities Supervisor position needs to be advertised as soon as possible. Commissioner Gregory stated that hiring a local individual would be beneficial when it comes to snow removal that requires immediate attention. It would also be a plus if the individual were also a member of the Department and is acquainted with the Department/District operations. Commissioner Gregory advised the Board that Glenn Bullock and Mark Ryckman are both interested in the position and will submit resumes. Commissioner Jackson stated that, according to the State Auditors and Comptroller's Office, it would be a conflict of interest to hire a Department member. Second Assistant Chief Gregory advised the Board that, within the County, there are several Chiefs that hold the position of Chief and work for the District as well. The District employee/Chief only reports to life threatening situations and, when responding to an alarm, they punch in and punch out to be covered by VHBL. Chief Bullock is willing to give up his Chiefs position and, during the daytime hours, there is usually an Assistant Chief to respond to alarms. Assistant Chief Gregory advised the Board that, right now, the morale in the Department is the highest it has been in years and member response to alarms is high.
Commissioner Densieski stated that there is a problem with Hampton Bays dispatch not giving the correct address when dispatching alarms. First Assistant Chief Gregory stated that the problem is not in the dispatching. The problem lies in the fact that the Town Police radio volume is low and inaudible. Commissioner Gregory again stated that Mike Tortorisi is willing to meet with the Board and the Chiefs to discuss the dispatch issues.
A workshop was scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
At 8:15 p.m., there being no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Gregory, seconded by Commissioner Densieski, to adjourn the meeting. Approved 4-0.
